How to be the Ideal Asian.

i have friends who are white and black that just love asian. and at time they ask me, "i want to be asian, how do i become one?" but jokiingly. and i just have to answer their question. you can be an asian anyday if you follow my rules.

Rule Number 1. -- You have to know Sailor Moon.
Everyone in the world who is asian just knows Sailor Moon by heart. They would remember that ever since they were little kids, they watched Sailor Moon on cartoon network. It's just a classic. And if you're asian and you don't know who Sailor Moon is.. something is mentally wrong with you.

Rule Number 2. -- You have to have asian friends.
Asians usually are in a clique or a group of 30 people who are asian and are just connected; just because your asian. Cool, huh? If your asian, you're automatically in the asian circle. It's great to have all asian friends. And then most of the sweet sixteens you go to are mostly asians. And most likely, if you're asian, your best friend is asian too.

Rule Number 3. -- You have to have the 'asian poses' in your pictures.
Yes, this is true. With every picture you take, you must have a peace sign. And if you're really over ambitous on being an asian, you can do the 'double-trouble' peace signs. You know.. just hold up both your hands and make the peace signs, smile  a cheeky smile that shows your pearly whites, and even squint your eyes! It's the perfect asian pic!

Rule Number 4. -- You have to be (atleast) an A student.
I know it may be hard for many of you, but that's how the asian-ness goes; you must get an A no matter what. You gotta be smart somehow, right? Everybody is saying (as a joke), "She gets A's because she's asian." Most likely, it's true. My statistics say that 99.99% of the time, asians are dominating on academics such as honors classes and AP classes and maybe even SATs. But most of the time, they get straight A's. And the hard core asians go for straight A+'s! ... I don't even know what to say about that. That must be impossible for most of you. But there are many asians I know who just go for A+'s.. .. Don't ask me.

The Asian Persuasion Rule 5. -- EAT RICE.
Last but not least, you have to eat one thing for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and anything you have as food. IT MUST BE RICE. It's pretty much self-explanatory. This is very important. This will pretty much make you asian.

i can go on and on about being the ideal asian. but sadly, i must tone it down to 5 rules.  and these are just the most important and tthe basics.
i had lots of fun posting this. being asian is fun and then there are times when its not.
don't take these rules personally. i see this everyday.

Don't you hate being "pitied"?

Damn. All I have been getting today is 'pity'.
I don't really want to talk about my situation. But don't you fucking hate that?

Well, I don't know about you, but being pitied is NOT something I ASKED for. Geez. I want to be treated right and fairly. I don't need your 'pity'. I don't know why but I just hate, hate, hate it so much. And you can tell when people are giving you pity. You really can. It's funny.

Like really. It really hurts being pitiful. Makes you feel stupid and weak.
Ugh. Hate, hate, hate it. And then people give you apologetic face and try to talk to you. Makes me sick.
Why can't people just accept the truth? I just don't want to. Is it so hard?
And then when I make this decision, everybody just feels sorry for me.
I don't know why, but people just don't respect my decision.

This is what I learned today. Being 'pitied' sucks ass.

Fuck you, summer reading.

who the hell invented of summer reading anyways?
it's a freakin' waste of time.
i hate it. i hate it. i hate it.

{ let me rant, please. }

i swear to god. summer reading is the worst thing ever. i mean, you read the book and then you forget about it the next day. its as simple as that. it really pisses me off that we're freakin' forced to read. and then when i go back to school - i have to take a effin test on this crap that's like a quarter of my final english grade. are you fuckin' kidding me? its so retarded.

and the thing is, no one does it. every time i ask someone, "oh, are you doin' summer reading? how's that goin'?" and then they're like, "dude, fuck summer reading. i have sparknotes for that." seriously, that's all i hear.
but then there are the most annoying people that are like, "amber, did you do summer reading yet? what the hell are you doing? your gonna fail and its gonna be all your fault --- blah blah blah blah."
i swear, can you act more like my mom? damn. don't ask why i have friends like this. it's probably cause she's asian.

and then i have my REAL mom. she's twice as annoying. i don't even want to go into what she says about me not doing my summer reading.. but i swear, she has these 'pms' moments where she'll yell at me out of nowhere about my summer reading. she totally freaks out! so now i lie to her that i read all my books.
and that's how i shut her up. (don't get me wrong, i love my mom --- to a certain extent) hey, what would you have done?

so, how's your fuckin' summer reading goin'?, Amber

What kind of blogs do you like to read?

oh man, that's a great question.

i like all kinds of blogs but there are just few that definitely stand out to me the most.
------------------
xx i love blogs that state their opinion of things, places, or people. you know, i would like to know what others are thinking on these kinds of stuff. sometimes i agree and sometimes i disagree.  and there are exciting times when i discover a whole new perspective on that particular subject. so blogs like that are pretty cool.

xx i also like discussing about major issues in our world today -- like the high prices on gas, or the next president (obama, clinton, mccain), or a blog about the homosexuals. some people will think that it's a boring topic to blog about. but hey, they're part of the world too. so it's good to know what other people are thinking and their thoughts about that.

xx oh, and how can i forget -- the kinds of blogs that people have a problem or a situation and actually tell all their feelings in a blog. that's a good way to let out frustrations and anger out. and then there are people who totally relate to that person and leave good comments. when there's that kind of blogs, i like to give advice and support for that person. blogs like that reach out to people around the world who feel your pain. its awesome.
------------------

there are other blogs out there but these kinds of blogs that described are my top 3.

Is it true that "what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger"?

How can you not think that's true?

You can look at it literally:
x If, you were able to dodge a bullet -- you have ahmazingg reflexes, so your strong.
x If, you were stranded on an island and you survived -- you were able to live without the kinds of electronics we take for granted everyday, and so your strong.

But you know, you don't always have to look at it, like "I survived a car crash, so I'm invincible and stronger."
Nooo, you are totally taking it to whole different level and missing the whole point.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
This means whatever that stands in your way -- your fears, your discouragement, your self-doubt, etc. -- doesn't stop you from reaching to your goal.  In fact, you face it - you learn from it - and makes you stronger.

Such as:
x  People who spread rumors about a certain someone -- well, that someone ignores it and stays strong against all the comments and rumors she recieves.
x Someone loses weight the right way and gains confidence in her life.
x Someone, who didn't think she/he can get good grades, studied hard and went to good college.
x Someone who stops themselves from committing suicide or drugs or alchol becomes stronger and live life the right way.

Well, it depends on the person -- if it was a major breakthrough and change in their lives for the better.
That's what I think.

[This song totally reminded of this question. You should listen to it. They're my favorite band.]

Motion City Soundtrack -- 'Even if it Kills Me'
"for the first time in a long time I can say
that i wanna try
to get better and overcome each moment
in my own way"
